TEXTILE INDUSTRY • Felts for steaming, ironing and decatizing calenders
In the sector of knitwear manufacturing there are many finishing processes for which steaming, ironing and decatizing calenders are used.
Endless needled felts, which are applied in such a surrounding, must be characterised by a high measure of resistance against hydrolysis.
At this, the correct and optimized fibre blend is crucial. Modified, high-strength synthetic fibers (polyester) achieve an excellent result, as part of the complete felt design.
For the production of calendar felts, used in the finishing process of knitwear, itb has developed own manufacturing technologies and procedurest.
Felts in circumferences of 1,5 to 3,5 m and widths of 1,6 to 2,8 m can be produced. An absolutely smooth felt surface is important for a good quality of the knitted goods.
Material composition and felt construction are relevant for the extreme longevity of itb felts, in an aggressive environment of heat, humidity and movement.
